Our History / About Us

Anstey Financial Planning was founded in April 1991 for two reasons:

• to offer something different, making a genuine positive contribution to our clients’ lifestyles by providing unbiased, impartial and integrated financial planning advice on all aspects of personal and business financial planning
• to cater for the many people who are frustrated by the perpetual turnover of staff in banks, building societies and life assurance companies who confined themselves to the products of one company

Based in South Molton we primarily serve clients in Devon, Somerset and Cornwall. We also have a substantial number of clients in Northern Ireland where we visit four to five times a year.

As opposed to being a large unwieldy company we are a close knit team that places great importance on the high quality of our staff and our excellent client retention levels, neither of which are achieved by accident.

We pride ourselves for being friendly, easily accessible and our jargon free, easy to understand approach to financial and life planning.

Anstey Financial Planning combines old-fashioned values of integrity and service with modern working practices. We invest not only in the cutting edge of technology and research but also in our staff who value our clients.

We are relentless in our efforts to constantly improve our services and we welcome all feedback to achieve that objective. We endeavour to develop a long tem relationship with you based on mutual trust and respect.

As unbiased impartial financial advisers we have unfettered access to the entire marketplace. Our philosophy is to give you maximum choice on a fully informed basis, so that you understand the advantages and disadvantages of various options, thereby equipping you to make measured decisions.

We do not allow distance to compromise quality advice. Since inception we have grown, mainly through referrals from other professionals such as solicitors and accountants and recommendations from existing clients who appreciate our friendly, yet professional and straight forward approach.

Our Principal

Gerard O'Boyle graduated with a joint honours degree followed by a post graduate diploma in education. After several years teaching he entered the financial planning profession in the mid eighties, initially with a High Street bank before progressing to a major life assurance company, launching Anstey Financial Planning in April 1991. The company has indemnity insurance.

Gerard is fully qualified and has been quoted in the Daily Telegraph and Independent on issues such as investment and retirement planning.
